Someone once said that ‘girls don’t sweat they glisten’! Well running in the rain had the great bonus of covering up my glisten!
Oh and my bright red face too!! So thank you rain!
:)
The run went fine; it was as good as my last. But not as good as I wanted it to be, and not as good as I know it can be! I could try and blame it on the weather, but in all honesty I enjoyed running in the drizzle, it was really refreshing.
I just don’t want to fail. Tomorrow is the race, I’ve been raising money for Cancer Research UK, and people have been so generous. I’d love to be able to run it all, but I just can’t make it. A couple of months ago I could barely make it down to the end of my road, let alone around the park. I’ve worked hard, and pushed myself until I’ve wanted to throw up. But it’s just not good enough. Yet I’m not going to give up, so it’s taken me a while to get as fit as I am, and it’ll take even longer to get as fit as I want to be. But I know it’ll all be worth it. By the end of the summer I want to be able to run to Mumbles and back without needing to take a break (just over 10K). I want to be able to cycle up those hills which make me nervous and swim more than one length at a time. I want it and so I will make it happen. I’m not fussed on losing a dress size; I just want to be fit, to be healthy and to be happy with my body.
I have a healthy diet. Yes I enjoy custard creams and other ‘unhealthy’ foods, but I also really love to eat fruit and vegetables! I’ve cut down on the amount of sugar I consume and I’m not a big fan of pop drinks anyway so diet wise I’m ok, it’s the exercise size side of healthy living that I need to try harder with. And I will.
